A straight answer for UAE businesses: what a website really costs in Dubai, why agency quotes vary so wildly, and how to tell what you are actually paying for.

Ask five Dubai agencies what a website costs and you will get five answers between AED 3,000 and AED 60,000 for what sounds like the same thing. That spread is not a mystery, and it is not all margin. It reflects genuinely different products sold under the same word. This is an honest breakdown of what each price band actually buys a UAE business in 2026, so you can tell the difference before you sign.

The three price bands, and what each really is

At the bottom, roughly AED 1,500 to 5,000, you are buying a template. Someone installs a purchased theme, drops in your logo and text, and hands it over. It exists, it loads, and it looks like a thousand other sites because it is one of them. For a business that just needs a placeholder online, this is honest value. For a business that wants the website to bring in enquiries, it usually disappoints, because templates are built for breadth, not for your customer.

In the middle, roughly AED 7,500 to 20,000, you are buying custom work: a design made for your business, content structured around what your customers actually search for, and an build that loads fast and is set up so Google can understand it. This is the band where a website starts behaving like a salesperson instead of a brochure.

At the top, AED 20,000 to 50,000 and up, you are usually buying either a large site, real web-application features like bookings, accounts or e-commerce, or an agency's overhead: an office on Sheikh Zayed Road, a sales team, and account managers. Some of that overhead buys you reassurance. None of it buys you better engineering.

Why the same brief gets such different quotes

The biggest hidden variable is who does the work. An agency sells you its best people in the pitch, then often staffs the build with juniors. A marketplace freelancer competes on price, which means competing on shortcuts. An independent studio inverts both: the person who wins your trust is the person who does the work, and the work has to carry their whole reputation.

The second variable is what is included. A cheap quote frequently leaves out the things that make a website earn its keep: performance, SEO structure, analytics, content help, and support after launch. Those reappear later as paid extras, and the cheap quote turns out to be the expensive one.

What a UAE business should actually budget

For a serious custom business website built to rank in UAE search and convert visitors into enquiries, budget from around AED 7,500 (about USD 2,000). E-commerce with real payment integration, and web applications with bookings or accounts, are scoped individually and cost more depending on the features. How to protect yourself before you sign
